tumblr versus blogger!
this post would be about tumblr versus blogger.
not that i have anything against the two, bec i dont. in fact i have a tumblr and a blogger.
but still, i just want to voice out my opinion on what it think is better for me.
and i am repeating, MY OPINION for which is better for me. (oh i just said that, but to be clear...)
tumblr is a blogging site just like blogspot, wordpress, i.ph, livejournal... named it. its a blogging site but sorta function (i dunno what right word to use) like facebook or twitter... where in people post timely.
i post in my tumblr like 2 times a day and sometimes not at all. and it was like last month that i decided to not post personal stuff in there and just keep on making typography (pictures with words on them) because i dont feel like sharing personal stuff in there, and dont ask me why. haha.
the people i follow post 3 times an hour or sometimes even more than that, while i only post like two times a day. i used to follow 200+ people, so you can just imagine how fast my dash is with all those 200 people posting every minute. there came a time all my time was just spent on back reading a lot of post and not having enough time on posting something.
everytime i open tumblr then, i'll automatically open 3 tabs for it. one for back reading, one for the new post, and one for posting or for more back reading...
so i decided to unfollow some people, and just decided to follow those that i can relate to, good in writing and photography and the ones who are really good in making typos.
and now i am following a total of 109 people. but still my dash is hella fast. everytime i refresh there will be like 20 new post. and it was convenient in a way that feedbacks are faster, but my point is i cant concentrate on writing if im too busy back reading hundreds of post.
and the fact is, i dont even get to read anymore because of those overflowing post in my dash, i just ends up scanning. and that seems pointless for me because i really love reading about people's lives or whatever they have to say.
that was why i was hooked up in blogging in the first place, because i love reading as much as i love writing.
and my point here is, i think tumblr is really great because you get to meet a lot of new people instantly, sabi nga nila, "its never boring"... but, as you gained followers and friends there, you also gained haters. not that i have any, because i only have 98 followers, im not a so called "tumblr famous"... and you know what? im sort of proud i gained them not by asking them to follow me, but i gained them because they actually like what i post.
but my real point is, i am more comfortable with blogger, with my blogspot because its really a blogging site and because i really love my virtual friends in here, and not that tumblr isnt a blogging site, but still, i already made my point about tumblr.
so yeah, that's my opinion about tumblr and blogger. i love blogger more than tumblr, but im not saying im leaving tumblr. coz i am not. :)
