For the love of fries!
Do watch this 30 second video. After watching it, what can you actually say about it? What are your reactions? Comments?
The reason why I asked you to do this is the fact that I don't understand the CBCP's ramblings. I am a Catholic, and I respect Christianity and the Church very much. But they seem to be going off limits now, don't you think? Them being too involve and too sensitive is not right. And I do mean too much.
Apparently, the CBCP had requested for the latest McDonald commercial to be pulled out because “It’s very shallow … It cheapens human relationships,” as Fr. Melvin Castro had put it. You can read the whole issue here.
Do excuse me, but I think they are over reacting, and a little out of range. I don't think its right for them to interfere and bully some TV ads, because it isn't actually their business. And if it is, there is even nothing wrong with it. Only the fact that it probably made lots of people smile!
The commercial is clearly advertising French fries. French fries for crying out loud! And not some "emotional and relational bonding of people"... whatever that meant. But of course, they thought otherwise. A little swish here and there, and poof! They made the supposedly cute commercial into an over analyze scene. For them its said "French fries is a basis of a relationship" and "Children at that age doesn't even know what real relationship or love was about".
Seriously, even if did said that, which it didn't. Who didn't had a puppy love? I had my first crush when I was 6 years old!

The commercial was supposed to be cute and filled with sweet humor. But instead the CBCP pointed it to be inappropriate and not a good way to shape someone's values. *Rolls eyes repeatedly.
Call me a bitch, but all I can say is... Why are they bashing this cute commercial when there are really worst and real inappropriate commercials? Why this?
